동덕여자대학교 보건관리학과의 조교수와 부교수를 지냈으며 현재는 정교수로 재직중이다. 연세대학교에서 사회학과 법학을 공부하고 서울대학교 보건대학원과 법학대학원에서 보건정책관리와 기초법 박사과정을 마쳤다. 미국 하버드 보건대학에서 박사후 과정을 수료하고 대나-파버 암 연구소에서 연구위원을 역임하였다. 세부전공은 보건사회학과 헬스커뮤니케이션이며 건강위험행태, HIV/STD, 지역사회기반 건강증진(지역사회역량), 건강권을 포함하여 건강의 사회적 결정요인에 대해 주로 연구해왔다. 하버드 보건대학의 2020-2021 Takemi Fellowship을 받았다.

Dr. Minsoo Jung is a tenured professor whose scholarship bridges sociology, law, and public health, with a particular focus on the social determinants of health. He earned his BA in Sociology and Law from Yonsei University, and completed his doctoral studies in Health Policy and Management and Basic Law at the Graduate School of Public Health and Law School of Seoul National University. He subsequently completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and served as a Research Fellow at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

Dr. Jung’s research examines how social, behavioral, and legal contexts shape health outcomes, with emphases on health risk behaviors, HIV/STDs, community-based health promotion and capacity building, and the right to health. His work integrates quantitative and qualitative approaches to investigate population-level patterns and policy implications. From 2020 to 2021, he was awarded the prestigious Takemi Fellowship at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.

Over the past decade, Dr. Jung has authored or co-authored more than 30 articles in leading international journals across public health, sociology, health communication, and health policy. His publications appear in Social Science & Medicine, International Journal of Public Health, Health Communication, Vaccine, Journal of Homosexuality, Patient Education & Counseling, Health Policy, British Journal of Cancer, Health Education & Behavior, and other SCIE- and SSCI-indexed journals. His work has consistently addressed global and regional public health challenges, including the dynamics of HIV transmission, health communication inequalities, infectious disease responses, and disparities in healthcare access.
